Make a Date to Meditate

Meditation is one of the most effective practices to help you achieve inner peace and calmness. It reduces the day’s stress, and allows you to remain composed through the many situations you encounter at home, work and your social life.

A thousand-year-old practice that originated as a means to allow a deeper connection to individual consciousness, meditation is spiritual medicine. Practicing meditation creates a positive condition between your mind and body.

The correct process of meditation allows you to release the complicated web of thoughts that crowd your mind and produce physical stress. Meditation is an important means to achieve victory over the mind’s repetitive nature. Regular meditation leads you to an improved state of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

What is Meditation?

Author of Rob Nairm, of What is Meditation explains, “Meditation is a highly alert and skillful state of mind because it requires one to remain psychologically present and “with” whatever happens in and around one without adding to or subtracting from it in any way.”

A recent study showed people who meditate exhibit higher levels of brain activity allowing the mind to process information quicker.

As the ego mind begins to cease its control you connect more deeply into the fundamental basis of the union with the soul. This ultimate union of soul and God can be achieved when the mind is silent–this is the union of God-consciousness.

Meditation is a focus of the mind. Once you get to a place of taming your thoughts, meditation is a way of accessing greater aspects of your own consciousness and activating the essence of your true Self.

Ease of Practice

The good thing about meditation is that it is simple; it can take as little as 10-20 minutes of meditation a day to restore your inner peace and provide the necessary spiritual strength to meet all kinds of challenges.

Thank you Donna. Practice is the best thing you can do with meditation. It takes practice.
