20 Self-Awareness Practices

Self-awareness is the key to happiness and enlightenment.

  1. Listen.
  2. Be Brave.
  3. Ground yourself with simple breathing exercises.
  4. Acknowledge you don’t know everything.
  5. Face your fears and frustrations.
  6. Write out your goals. Start weekly, grow to monthly, yearly.
  7. Be still for 10 minutes every day.
  8. Don’t forget to forgive.
  9. Honor yourself today.
  10. Send yourself and others loving kindness especially the people you don’t like.
  11. Get out of your own way.
  12. Make more eye contact and smile.
  13. Mindfully eat meals.
  14. Write to friends and family members you haven’t heard from in over a year.
  15. Help someone out. Donate to an online funding source.
  16. Enjoy every moment of your life.
  17. Turn off the TV, get offline and go outside and take a walk.
  18. Increase good karma. Pay for a stranger’s coffee/tea/water.
  19. Give yourself permission to do something you haven’t done before.
  20. Love yourself unconditionally.
