Awakening is a big word and means different things, depending on where you are on the path. People wake-up every day literally, and figuratively. Enlightenment is living on the other side of the ego, it’s a change in perspective that the ego won’t allow you to see until you go through ego death.

Awakening is waking up beyond the ego constructs of “should”, “suppose to” and “what will people think,” ideas, and becoming present with your thinking. Generally, most people go along with life without thinking, this is called mindlessness. There’s nothing wrong with being mindless, and much of the population do it. Mindlessness is what you would be waking up from. A person would become aware of what they think and feel and most importantly why as they wake up more.

By going along with what other people say without embodying the concepts or ideas yourself means a person is “unconscious.” An unconscious person lives life based on false realities of “others” do’s and don’ts. Again, it’s what you would be waking up from.

A person awakens from the confines of ego-personality, me and my, thinking. It’s mine, or the focus is on me, as in self-absorbed and a greater sense of personal importance—this is ego. Generally, when a person has this default, they lack confidence and are covering something up inside of them.

Perhaps they are living a lie and trying to be something they are not. It’s that adage of why men buy Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s, it’s the show of bravado and, “look at me, I’m important because I can afford an expensive car,” however, they can’t hold a meaningful conversation or understand what a meaningful conversation is.

Other aspects of ego are stubbornness, life, or others have to show up a certain way to be accepted or rejected as having no value. Also, rigid thinking, lack of flexibility, loneliness, and seeking others to fill voids, unhappiness, and then addictions to drugs, alcohol, and sex are all ego-based realities.

Unless you’ve done a lot of personal work on yourself, you aren’t thinking about how thoughts block and prohibit you from being anything-aware or unaware. But, thoughts and attention guide your life. Overthinking something from a limiting point of view only makes situations worse.

By asking yourself significant questions like, “Why, do I need to be right? Why am I angry all the time? You’ll gain a greater understanding of mindsets and for women the emotional makeup. Waking up is awakening from limited thinking and become mindful of your thoughts and feeling on a daily basis.

Meditation

The ideal purpose of meditation is to untangle the ego knots, also known as mental knots or limiting thinking, or fear, envy, stubbornness, control, manipulation, hurt, being reactive, greed, pride, and unworthiness. However, there’s not enough time to only use meditation as the source to untangle the mind, and this is why work is so important and needed. I work on the essential core patterns that created the thinking constructs from earlier life experiences. I do this healing work in group calls or privately.

Ascension

Ascension is ascending the ego and similar to waking up. It’s not flying into the sky. It’s ascending past the limitation of ego thinking and feeling. When Jesus ascended, he rose beyond his ego. He didn’t fly off the planet.

Self-Awareness and Self-Realization

Are the same—you’re becoming aware of Self-unlimited being, at this stage, you’ve crossed the threshold of ego, in other words, there’s been an ego death, and you’ve seen the dark side of the ego without judging it.

Enlightenment

A spontaneous awakening beyond the ego—this is a major death of the ego, and a person comes up the other side of the ego and lives from a different perspective. The difference is the world is not coming at you, the world is created by what you believe and think about it.
