Walking the enlightenment path doesn’t mean you have to meditate for months, and it doesn’t mean you chant OM either. Or take unlimited yoga classes. Although all these things are helpful, enlightenment is a way of living beyond the ego (beyond illusion). The ancient yogi’s never laid out a step-by-step plan to reach spiritual enlightenment. However, traditional enlightenment programs agree that meditation to know the inner Self is essential.

Unless you embark on a spiritual path of personal development, you aren’t aware of what you say or feel about life. Life goes along as “normal” until something like divorce, death in the family, or you get fired, debt issues, or personal illness comes to knock on the door. It’s a wake-up call. 

While working on yourself is vital to a healthier lifestyle, it’s also the path to spiritual enlightenment (spiritual awakening) and knowing the inner You.

Know the Inner Self

The inner Self represents your heart, soul, and spirit. When you embody your true Self, it shines through all your gestures. It resides within you right now. Like a jewel, it is multifaceted, and the part of you free of fear, controlling behaviors, negative self-talk, depression, and illness. It embodies strength and courage, curiosity and wisdom. To “Know the Self” is understanding yourself and a much deeper level.

Freedom

Spiritual enlightenment means anxiety and stress are no longer a daily occurrence. You won’t be controlled by fear or hurt. You have stepped on the other side of the ego’s controlling nature. You recognize that you are a divine being, and you love all parts of YOU. You experience wholeness and live free to truly be You. How amazing is that!

The journey to emotional freedom and fulfillment, including spiritual enlightenment, begins with you. We are so inoculated into what is expected, and getting beyond the thinking mind takes a conscious effort to peel the layers of conditioned behaviors, thinking patterns, and trauma we experienced in life.

It’s time to take your focus off the outer world, others, the nightly news, parents, and friends and develop a deep relationship with the inner YOU, your true Self. No better time than now with all the chaos going around.
